Jonas Sanders

Live and studio drummer

Jonas Sanders was born on May 14th, 1987 in Brussels, Belgium. He grew up in a family where art and music had a significant place and he started playing the drums with the support of his dad, who was himself a percussionist and singer. He began classical training at the age of 7 with Sarah Mouradouglou and 6 years later won a medal from Brussel's Cultural Office for achieving excellence. After graduating high school, he continued practicing his instrument by joining the Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles where he studied Jazz for 4 years with Bruno Castellucci (Al Jarreau, Elton John, Benny Goodman, …) and other respected Belgian musicians such as Jean-Louis Rassinfosse , Michel Hatzigeorgiou.

Jonas formed his first band DARK SENSATION when he was 14 years old. This gave him the opportunities to play shows and gain experience in studio recording for the first time. His first tour was with DOLLSEX which he joined in 2006, helping to promote their first and record on their second album. Working with these bands kickstarted his reputation as a drummer and defined his career aspirations as a professional musician. In 2008, he joined THE END OF ALL REASON, KOMAH and RESISTANCE extensively touring Europe with them while continuing to undertake studio work and finishing his studies.

Still busy as a session drummer, Jonas is now the drummer for PRO-PAIN (NYHC) since 2011 and recorded three albums with them so far Straight to the Dome, The Final Revolution, Voice of Rebellion recently released on SPV/STREAMHAMMER.

Jonas Sanders is proudly endorsed by Stagg Music, Tama, Evans & Pro-Mark.
