Peter Precious

London College of Music

Peter is based in Banstead, Surrey and is a London College of Music Examiner and Composer for the exam board. He has written several exam pieces such as the Grade 8 Drum kit exam piece, A Show of Hands.

In addition Peter has written 20 Graded exam pieces from Grades 1 to 8 for the new LCM Drum kit syllabus due to be released in 2021.

Peter has been teaching for over thirty years and teaches all Percussion from Drum kit and Snare Drum,through to Timpani and Tuned Percussion.

Peter also teaches Trombone and Music Theory.

Peter teaches from Beginner to Diploma standard and has had several students pass Grade 8 and Diploma exams.

He also has had many students take up professional careers in music, such as Louie Palmer who now teaches and plays in Los Angeles.

He currently teaches 120 students a week across five schools and his home studio. He also is responsible for organising termly Percussion exams at his designated exam centre in Sussex.In addition to teaching and examining, he also performs as a freelance musician.
